I will do my best to prevent insane things resulting from normalization by
using my judgment about the relative difficulties of the two exams. If the
second exam is hard, but everybody aces it, I won't peg them at the mean of
the other exam. If simple normalization doesn't cause anything unjust to
happen, I'll just use simple normalization.
