I have updated the references section of the website to indicate reading
assignment due dates.

Please put your name on reading assignment summaries. I print them out, revise
on hardcopy, then enter them into my gradebook. The gradebook has the following
summary entries: "O.K." (5), "needs revision" (3), "inadequate" (1),
"incomplete" (0). If you revise a "needs revision" summary, the entry can turn
to "O.K.". I hope not to see any "inadequate"s this semester.

"O.K." means I think you correctly understood the main idea of the paper.

"Needs revision" means I think you missed something important, or that you may
understand but this is not entirely clear from the summary.

"Inadequate" means that the summary doesn't indicate understanding.

In case you are wondering why I didn't assume everybody had covered Liu before
today's lecture, that was because I (mistakenly) thought I had posted PDF
lecture slides containing a later due date for Liu.
